FMI Colloquium, June 4, 2026

On June 4th 2026  at 17:00 in the FMI Conference Hall meeting of the FMI Colloquium will be held.

Prof. Bogdan Djordjevic, Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts) is going to give a research presentation on topic:
Yang-Baxter like matrix equation: presentation of results

Abstract:
Yang-Baxter equations AXA=XAX play a crucial role in many fields of mathematics and physics, including (but not limited to) braid groups, quantum computing, knot theory, quantum gates, machine learning, scattering theory, etc. As it so happens, solving the equation (in terms of finding all its solutions)
is still an open problem, even in the matrix setting, though plenty of special cases have been solved and closed.
This talk will present an overview of the speaker's comprehensive work regarding this topic: he will talk about the obtained results (in collaborations and in sole papers) regarding the equation AXA=XAX in matrices. Some open questions will be discussed at the end of the talk..

Prior to the presentation, colloquium participants are invited at 16:30 in the FMI Conference Hall for an informal discussion over coffee/tea.

You are welcome!
